Val du Charron Art derived its name from the French name of Wellington in the Western Cape (meaning valley of the Wagon makers).
The artist resided in Wellington whilst be inspired by the beautiful Boland surroundings. The artists moved in 2009 to Gauteng and work from her studio in the valley of the Magaliesberg mountain range, Heatherdale. Her studio manifacture their own canvas and French station clocks from recycled wood. She use her own special secret recipy by applying the thick white paste to the canvas. She then draw freehand pictures on the wet paint using pastels and charcoal to complete the work. |
